Ian has been at Radio Saltire since June 2021. Before that, he was at another community radio station for about 2.5 years, and before that was with Edinburgh Hospital Radio for about another 2.5 years.

​He was a boy DJ in youth clubs and pubs in the late 70s in the Inverclyde area on West Coast of Scotland. 

Ian joined Radio Saltire because he was impressed with their sense of Community and that mixes well with his love of music and broadcasting.

​His favourite artist ("How long have you got?" he said): David Bowie, Yes, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Supertramp, Tom Petty, Counting Crows, Hootie and the Blowfish, Bob Seger, America, Eagles, Jackson Browne, The Smiths, The Cure, and then all the Country Stuff like Ryan Adams, Dwight Yoakam, Jason Isbell and mainstream Country like Eric Church, Allison Mourer and everything in between.

​His pet peeve is the seeming reliance the world has on social media and celebrity for the sake of it.

​Ian presents the Drivetime show on Fridays 4pm - 7pm, and at various other times with the 1 Hour Saltire Specials some on the Golden Years of the 70s and a new Collection of Saltire Country.
